A bit of background if you dont know already and for others as well Doupo Cangqiong and Wudong Qiankun are side companion novels, meaning although they are on different worlds they share the same prequel Yuan Zun (Dragon Prince Yuan) set thousands of years before and sequel Da Zhu Zai (The Great Ruler), both of which are currently being produced by the same studio as Doupo Cangqiong. Da Zhu Zai is supposed to come out this year... but still no word on it's release. To answer your question Both main characters of each novel will travel with their wives, family and friends (only a few are mentioned and show up in the novel, you can assume how many and who came with them) to this new world, they become minor characters in this sequel, their daughters having more "screentime" than them lol

Xiao Yan marries Medusa in a simple and family only wedding when after he returns to Jiama empire the second time, first one was when he returns to destroy and interrupt Yun Yun's wedding to Gu He. At the end of the novel, Xiao Yan marries both of them in a ceremony with his father present

No, Medusa is the first wife he marries. After all she did for his family and the Flame Alliance (Alliance between the Xiao family, Jiama Alchemy Guild, The Miter Auction House, the Jiama empire and various minor forces) not to mention she also gave birth and took care of his first child and his brothers told him to marry her otherwise they will make it difficult for him (scolding and flipping on him) he decides to marry her and proposes to her, and they then had their first consensual intimate moment, they had a very simple wedding
The second wife is Xun'er, near the end of the novel, he marries her and holds a wedding ceremony for her and Medusa (giving her a proper and full blown fanfare wedding)
This part will depend on how you want to interpret the ending of the novel Yun Yun, the one you mentioned, is asked Xiao Yan through a mail that Nalan Yanran carries, to return to Jiama empire and live with him in his home city, Wutang City. This can imply he "marries" her since no woman will move in and live with a man without marrying, especially if that man already has a wife or wives. He also asks Little Fairy Doctor, (you will see her in season 6), and Ya Fei, where he auctions himself to her for a very high price. The author left it to the read to interpret how these women ending will be with Xiao Yan, whether they move in with him, live with him, "marry him" or just are friends with him
In the sequel the author left it vague as to whether these women came with him to the new world, again leaving it to the readers to interpret

mmm im a bit dissapointed with this season..so far i guess.. Past seasons felt a bit different than most donghuas or if not different at least better made. but here everything feels stagnant like fillers. i mean i dont hate it not at all its decent but thats all it is. I hope all this build up leads to something interesting tho, i would hate this donghua to fall in with the crowd of boring and unoriginal stories that the chinese factory keeps spewing. i actually felt this one was special in past seasons

It's just the way it is, the novel is 1644 chapters long, and the donghua follows the novel closely as such it will have it's ups and downs, but I think because the studio decided to go 52 episodes it cant spend as much time in it's scriptwriting as well as plot pacing, whereas if it took a break, it might have been better, since more time can be spent on developing a better script, character designs and the director for season 5 is not the same one as previous seasons

Mind you it could also be that the Shanghai lockdown a while back had an effect on the studio as well

What is this,,,we had a whole season (4) showing us how he is a good Alchemist.why did we need this episode. This could have been resolved in the last episode.And why is he now learning the lighting skill ...am sure next episode is also not going anywhere. This season has really been a let down.

Quit complaining, you seem like you don't want it to tell its story smh. A story encompasses everything to create a solid body of work, (unfortunately) that includes the good and "bad" parts. Which I wouldn't necessarily state this episode as bad, or how else would they introduce some of these characters (especially the ones who cant/don't fight that have appearances)?! Do you NOT want them to tell the story just to appease you, all because you feel like some of it is unnecessary, or boring, or useless?? This series (world) is full of many different things, it can't only show and revolve around fighting.

Or do you only want fighting, if so then you should feel the same way about that too which you feel about alchemy. Because we had many seasons seeing him fight new enemies/opponents but you don't find it boring or unnecessary do you?? Oh, just the alchemy part, even though both will be featured throughout the whole damn series constantly, aka repetition!! So be consistent with your criticism, not just selective criticism. Better get used to it buddy, there's many more "unnecessary/useless" episodes to come.

Which part of comment did I talk about wanting only fighting,,,, there is no need to keep repeating things which has already been established. All this story showed was telling us XY is a good alchemist. If you have been following the series like me, u will know we already had a whole season that showed XY as a great alchemist. So having a whole episode letting us know that again doesn't do anything to the story, no where in my comment did I say I just want fighting.

Again if u have been following the story, fighting and alchemy has always been diverse, it's not repetitive.each fight feels different, and in season 4 every episode around the alchemy is different, kept showing different ways he could refine medicine The fact that u think it been repetitive is normal means u have not been following at all

You may end up disappointed if you feel that him taking part in an alchemy match isn't needed, especially with what is to come in the future. Think of it like this, when Xiao Yan was taking part in that competition in season 4, only one of them was even close to his level in ability and that was the vice president of the guild they were trying to stop from winning whereas the rest of them were mediocre at best.

The match wasnt just about him protecting the boulder guild but also to show that the level of ability of these alchemists were somewhat better with leader of the alchemy guild combining the pill even though it wasn't complete. If I remember right, he'll have another competition eventually where they are on the same level as him Although, I'm not 100% sure about that because it was a while ago when I read it.
